Folks,
CD WOW appear to be cancelling orders left right and centre...and I was a bit alarmed as well to read on here that they are "Cherry-picking" i.e not cancelling the orders that make them a profit.
Believe me, they have the technology to scan orders and compare this to their online database which works out the profit threshold for each item....
I think its time to Boycott them and use other providers.....
https://www.find-cd.co.uk is an excellent tool for sourcing the cheapest CD's....like another poster here- I checked the price of a Kylie CD on CDWOW it comes in at £8.75. Ok you get a 50p voucher and it takes it down to £8.25.
BUT
The results from https://www.find-cd.co.uk give two suppliers play.com and 101cd.com which are cheaper and CD-WOW i.e Kylie for £7.99 and £7.95 respectively.

Agree.I've been using that website for about a year.
By combining discounts ,CD Wow have come up with some real bargains, but are not that competative without them.
Be aware that some online suppliers can be slow to send goods, but Cd Wow can be sometimes.0 -
They cancelled an order that I placed the other day using a 75p off link and then a £1 CD-Wow discount voucher. I reordered with CD-Wow via a cashback site using the £1 discount voucher and they accepted it. I lot out on the 75p discount but gained 2% cashback (15p)... See my post on the cashback site here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=35055 - £5 credit to everyone who joins, and I recently go a cheque from them for £37!0

Cancelled an order of mine on a £25 box set (so doubt its just profit ones) when using £1 link and £1 voucher. Told them I was disgusted and wouldnt be using them again, especially as they sent me the £1 voucher I used for a previous late delivery.
They told me they would be rewriting the software so you can only use a voucher OR a discount link.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

It's still pretty easy to find a £1 discount link or voucher for CD-Wow so that would bring down the price to £7.75, it might only be 20p cheaper, but it's still cheaper.
And I'm pretty much sure CD-Wow are just being random with refusing orders. I ordered Coldplay XandY using 2 £1 discounts bringing it in at £6.75 and had it cancelled.
A week later it was down to £6.99 less £1 link I've got it delivered for £5.99. Make sense of that. All the World is a Stage; and I'm going through a difficult one at the moment!0 -
Now they're cancelling all orders which use two discounts. You can now only use a discount voucher, OR a discount link.0

I'm all for smart shopping and saving money, but to criticise a commercial company for trying to sell items at a profit seems a little extreme.
I've used vouchers and links before so I've taken advantage like many others, but if they tighten up their procedures, so be it.
It will at least be easier to compare prices round the Web if what we see is what we pay, saves time doing searches for that extra 50p off.
Just my two cents, as the saying goes.
If I'm missing the point here, please put me straight!0 -
The reason CD-WOW have stopped the links and vouchers being used at the same time is because people were abusing them!
I'm happy using just a voucher because most of the time CD-WOW is cheaper. Just shop around before buying. Its that simple.0 -

I think it a case of a big company allowing you to use both discounts, and not clearly stating on any codes that you cant, confirming your order and then the next day cancelling it! I have had several orders with them and never realised it was against there policy to do so, until i ordered again from them yesterday and they cancelled my order! You think a company like that would be able to sort there software out (or whatever you call there ordering system)

And there was me thinking they were there to be used

Just FYI - if you fill in a short questionnaire on CD Wow they will send you 2 50p vouchers (for those of you who still want to buy from them). Plus for those of you who don't, you get a chance to vent your frustration.
