Not sure how but I intend to stay positive!

Things haven't exactly been going well lately, what with uni tutor being a less than understanding tube, having to give up work because I'm too exhausted for uni and debt somehow increasing even though I've cut my spending drastically. However, I intend to make the best of things and look towards the time when all these troubles will be behind me.:j

I have an exam tomorrow (for which I haven't done enough work) then I'm going to the pub with a few mates (Student Union so not too expensive) to celebrate that it's over.

Long term I'm going to keep going with the Mystery shopping, throw any spare money at my debts, look for a job in the summer but, most importantly, try to look on the bright side. Rumour has it that there aways is one.

So here goes. Any support along the way would be appreciated.:T

  • Hi Mupeteer, good luck for the exam tomorrow - at this stage, I'd concentrate on the main 'headline' areas you need to think about. Don't try to cram too much of too many subjects or nothing will go in!

I don't blame you celebrating tomorrow

Some uni tutors are amazing and others are the complete opposite :(

Don't panic about the exam, you'll always feel you haven't done enough, I know I always felt that way :o make sure you get a good night's sleep because that really can make a difference in terms of concentration.

I always found being awake early on the day of an exam (as opposed to cramming late into/through the night) meant I remembered more - good luck for tomorrow :D

It is hard to stay positive about study with debts. You say your tutor is being a less than understanding tube; just in case you need to take action about this (official university appeals processes etc), can I suggest that you document all communication with your tutor?

Good luck with the exam tomorrow. Cat.x

Can you volunteer for any experiments in the psychology dept? NOT drug trials/medical? I know some students get £5, £10 £15 even depending on the task / length of time.

  • Mupeteer - I promise you there will be a bright side somewhere (even if it is just the cheap beer at the SU!)
Good luck in your exams - remember to read the paper all the way through before starting...it does help plan your time but most importantly it freaks out all the people sitting around you and makes them wonder what you are up to!!

Good idea Verbatim. I see adverts for these all the time but haven't really thought about doing any. Time to start.

BE, I like the idea of freaking everyone else out but that probably says a bit too much about me.:rotfl:

I'm off to do some serious last minute cramming now. My aim is to study until 9pm so if anyone catches me on here before then please feel free to give me a boll***ing!!

Just taking a sort break - darling BF made my dinner for me. I figure I'll give myself another 10 minutes then it's back to it.

Can anyone tell me about Gardner's Multiple Intelligences or Bloom's Taxonomy?

  • Well, that's me finished my studying for the night. I've done better than I expected but I'll only really know if I've done enough when I get into the exam tomorrow. :o Keep everything crossed for me.

I'm going to watch the end of Spooks then have a warm bath before bed. Looking forward to a good nights sleep.

  • Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is well.

Had a lousy sleep so I'm really not looking forward to my exam. I kept waking up thinging about ADHD and Autism and teaching strategies related to them.

In a few hours it'll be over though. I'm sure the Union has a bottle of wine with my name on it!

Well the exam was a disaster. I'd spent loads of time studying about special needs and they didn't appear anywhere. I realised when I came out that I had only answered half the essay question. So it looks like a certain fail.

Went to the pub afterwards and spent a small fortune drining myself into oblivion.

So I feel really stupid and blew my budget for the week. So much for staying positive.
