Remortgage - payments

Morning,

I am hoping someone can help. I am moving my mortgage from Natwest to HSBC.

I pay my mortgage on the 28th of the month. Will the payments seamlessly switch over e.g. 28th July I pay Natwest, 28th August I pay HSBC or is there an overlap period where I will be making 2 payments?

The remortgage date is the 29th July

Thanks

Comments

  • Every lender does this differently and the first payment can either be a normal payment or just shy of a double payment taken like 2 months after the mortgage starts

With HSBC, they require 28 days from funds drawdown to set up the DD. So based on your dates it should come out as expected on 28th August.
