Job loss/change after exchange of contracts!

You have my utmost sympathy........ I did not have such a dramatic period between exchange and completion (first time buyer, completed last year!), but I had read horror stories about people losing their life savings for no reason at all...as a mortgage provider can decide not to continue, and thus if the seller doesn't get their money on the completion date, that's it! You're toast! I can't believe there isn't a better system in place ... and I know it's not likely to happen but it CAN happen and that worried me to no end...
I would keep shtum and play dumb later if needed... BEST OF LUCK! And do let us know how it all turns out..!!0 -
Just a quick update, been so busy I almost forgot about this thread.
House sale went through with no problems at all, while this forum contains lot's of useful information I believe it exaggerates the potential risks of house buying and introduces you to all the horror stories and worst case one in a million scenarios.
We now own a beautiful 3 bed detached house and look forward to making it a home.
