A very quick Q about Unpaid Parental Leave

I am a father and want to take UPL.

I know you are able to have 4 weeks per year.

But my Q is...what denotes a year... Jan to Dec.

Or can i have four weeks in both Dec then Jan straight away ????

You would be better asking your employer...

I think you need to start again in your research on this subject. The entitlement is 18 weeks in total until the child is aged 18, with a maximum of 4 weeks per year unless your employer agrees more.

  • Don’t forget you need to meet all the eligibility too.

I would expect most companies to operate the 'year' as a 12 month rolling period.
  • I would say it would be 4 weeks in a rolling year.

I'd already read that. But wording suggests most employers would go with 4 weeks per year, and that was the basis of my question!
  • Up to a maximum of four weeks per year. However it clearly says you can’t have more than 18 weeks up until the child is 18.
