This weekend DW has had me replacing the 3 upvc windows and composite door at the front of the house, as she wanted a change of style and colour. Now the flippin facia and soffits need to be done.
I need someone brave to have words with her, she just tells me to shut up and stop crying.
And when I tell her Martin Lewis says it’s not very money saving, and I want to retire, that falls on deaf ears.🙁🙁🙁2 -

Updated figures at the weekend 😱😱😱
We've been away for a few days, so have been ignoring the news, sort of 😉
(And the quote is in at nearer £3k 😉)How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)3 -
Looking at the provisional figures, I think we'll just ignore the last 24 months, and compare to where we were at end of Sept 2020!!!
The huge rise in fund values, and the current fall back, is just skewing the figures. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)2 -

Can always go back to work, lol0 -
On the energy front, my spreadsheet tells me that, to date, my Eon V12 fix has cost us £40 more than having been on the OFGEM cap. We should now start to claw that back, as this fix is still below the new October capped cap.
I'll let you know when we break even!!
In bigger "beans" news...we have the grand sum of £3000 more than we had at end of Sept 2020. However, we have SPENT £31,700 during that period.
Steady as she goes. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)8 -
Keep up the good work Sea_Shell.I unitised our (dividend based) portfolio in 2014, and the units are 3% down capital-wise since end Sept 2021. However, income earned per unit has increased by around 50% up to the end of 2021, and looks to be on target for a further increase in 2022. Interestingly although dividends were reduced in 2020, the amount received in the year was barely less than in 2019 (total and per unit). So far we seem to be covering expenditure quite well, but time will tell how the energy price rises affect us. Fortunately we are no longer dependent on electric storage heaters for winter warmth, which makes quite a difference!0

Sorry you've lost me, I don't understand any of that? How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)2
