3rd month of no wins on the PB's on £40k  :(

Would have had c.£60 interest by now, if we'd just shoved it in Marcus!!
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

If it gives you any comfort here's my breakdown of performance on PBs:

    Columns are:

Month     Winnings    Running total of holdings

    Feb-21    £50
    £10,000
    Mar-21 £0     £10,000
    Apr-21 £0 £10,000
    May-21 £0 £10,500
    Jun-21 £0 £17,175
    Jul-21 £0 £19,675
    Aug-21 £25 £21,275
    Sep-21 £0 £22,875
    Oct-21 £0 £23,875
    Nov-21 £0 £23,875
    Dec-21 £25 £23,875
    Jan-22 £25 £23,875

As of this month total winnings over previous 12 months is £125, equivalent to 0.69% interest rate. Still better than Marcus.

Thought I'd post it here because you queried it Sea_Shell and I thought you might find it useful, but I realise this should be in the Premium Bond thread.

Thanks.   It's just a barren patch I guess.   Hopefully we'll have some wins to "catch up" on the "average luck" 0.9% rate!!

    Maybe next month we'll win 5 x £25 ?

Yes, I think that's definitely the way to look at PBs.

..we have both maxed out on our PBs, and average around the headline rate. Most years we get a month or maybe 2 with no "winnings", but with avergae luck it should even itself out over time...hang on in there!!

We usually stay in self catering and have been disappointed at times when the accommodation was reasonably priced and looked good on the website, but they didn't do the basics well, like for example tired-looking kitchen appliances and lack a lot of basic utensils etc.  We are prepared to pay a bit more for better accommodation but even some so-called luxury accommodation has also been disappointing as regards the basics.

I wasn't previously aware of Darwin Escapes, but I do like the look of that accommodation. I see that they have various sites throughout the country and most lodges seem to be pet-friendly which is good for us.
And bad for those of us with pet allergies, guess this place wont be added to my list.
If tbe place is properly cleaned should it make any difference?
It would cost too much for the clean if done 'properly'.

If you can't clean the place properly then should they really be accepting pets?

Let's face it, I doubt any accommodation steam cleans all surfaces and soft furnishings and sets off a "fumigation bomb" between guests.

So if you're very allergic to dog, then no, it won't be cleaned "properly"
