Weird one,
I'm looking to go on a weight gain plan, I'm a slim build 24 year old and want to pack on weight.
I've ordered high protein and calorie proteins but was wondering if there was an actual weight gain plan that anyone knows of?
Thanks

Are you looking to just put on any sort of weight? Or healthy/lean? Are you going to be exercising along with it? What is your actual goal?0

Ok, you cant "put on weight and turn it into muscle". That implies you can add fat and turn it into muscle, which you cant.
However in terms of weight loss and gain the general principles are thus.
Burn more Kcals than you consume = lose weight
Eat more Kcals than you burn = gain fat
Eat more Kcals than you burn combined with good and regular weight training routine = gain muscle (and probably some fat too)
So in terms of Kcals in dont overcomplicate things. Eat a Kcal surplus of lean meats, fish, veg, fruit, nuts, seeds and pasta/rice potatoes etc. Suggest about 500 surplus per day. If you are a natural ectomorph im sure the odd ready meal will not hurt.0 -
You could try GOMAD diet which involves drinking a gallon of milk per day. Know some people who did well on it.0

You could try GOMAD diet which involves drinking a gallon of milk per day. Know some people who did well on it.Cons of the GOMAD diet
- GOMAD can result in uncomfortable gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, nausea, and diarrhea.
- You have to carry around milk with you throughout the day because it’s difficult to consume this much milk at two or three sittings.
- A gallon of milk contains around 1,680 mg of sodium and 73 g of saturated fat, high above the daily recommended amounts.

Ask your GP for a referral to a dietician. They'll be able to advise a safe and healthy way to gain weight.0

try and make your own weight gain smoothie and fill it with high calorie fluids and foods.0

Can I ask why you want to gain weight? Most people out here would love to be a 'slim build 24 year old'...
Some of us are just slim naturally - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you can eat like a horse and not gain weight, then welcome to the club. By all means hit the gym to build muscle and improve fitness - but your basic body shape sounds fine to me. (For the record I'm 5'8" and weighed 7 1/2 stone until I was 45. I now weigh 9 stone, thanks to a bit of natural middle-aged spread - but still a long way from being tubby)No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
for me, giving up smoking, turning 50 and drinking far too much lager helped.
I went from 10st to 14st in no time at all after years of being underweight.0
