Hey Betty Boop

My Mum has just received mail from UK World Gift Catalogue. I see from your Forum that a lot of other people have encountered this company. She began with a scratchcard found inside the local newspaper. She then rang the number given on the card which told her she has won £1000 worth of goods from a catalogue. She was also asked to send £6.95 for a digital camera. She did so. After a few weeks nothing arrived, so my Dad wrote to the address and low and behold the camera arrived. There is still no sign of the catalogue. I understand from your forum that people are suggesting not to order from the catalogue even if you receive it, is this the case?

Reading some of the postings, which are from more than 2 years ago! A good question was asked on one of them. How is it that a rogue company can still be doing this a few years on? I noticed a link to an OFT case. However, the link is no longer there. Can anyone tell me what the outcome of the OFT case was.? Obviously it had no affect, as these scratchcards are still in circulation in many newspapers and magazines. Thanks.
