Hi,
I recently agreed to a full and final settlement with SafetyNet Credit. Please could you tell me if this is enough information they have sent before I make payment? To ensure once the settlement is paid, I will no longer be liable. Just want advice before I make the payment.
“At the time of this email your outstanding balance is £405.44, as a goodwill gesture we will accept a settlement payment of £283.81, which is to be received by 09/07/2019.
Please be advised if you accept the settlement offer this will be reflected as a partially satisfied balance on your credit file.
You can make this payment by calling us on 0800 180 8405 or going to your dashboard.
If you wish to make this payment via a bank transfer please use the details below”

If anyone who has experienced this with safety net, I’d appreciate your experiences. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Ideally you want it writing (a proper letter you can keep for 6 years in case of any issues) and also you want it to say that the payment of £283.81 will close the account with zero balance remaining and that they won't persue or sell on the remainder (the partially settled marker is correct)£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

A letter is preferable, but an email is also sufficient - as long as you print off a hardcopy and hold onto that for a minimum of 6 years after the account has been settled. You definitely need them to confirm that as well as marking your file as 'partially settled' that the also agree that neither they, nor any other associate company, will take any other action to collect or enforce the debt and that you will therefore be released from any liability in respect of the debt.

Hi thank you for your reply. They have just sent me this email:
“We have recently provided you with a settlement offer of £283.80 due for 09/07/19.
If you pay the settlement amount, we will write off the rest of your outstanding balance and reflect your account as 'partially settled' on your credit file.
Once your account is closed and showing as 'partially settled' we will require no further payments from yourself towards your account”This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
That looks fine - ideally you want the caveat added about not selling on, but by the sounds of it once you've paid the monies it'll be put to rest. Just keep hold of those letters/emails.0
