Santander underwriter query

Hi all,
I'll start by setting the scene;
First time buyers
£330k house - new build
£66k HTB, £54k cash, £210k mortgage
Me: £46k basic, advised £25k bonus/commission
Partner: £21k basic, advised £9k commission
My last years P60 indicated £59k total earnings, and the last 3 months payslips have each had £5k+ in commission. I've purposely low balled both of our earnings to be on the safe side.
The underwriter has come back and asked why I've had such a jump in year on year earnings, and why the last 3 months suggest more this year than I've advised. I've gone back and advised I've been with current employer for just over 3 years, and we have a 2-3 year sales cycle, hence I'm just beginning to reap the rewards. I've also advised I've been a bit cautious on predicted full year earnings - it's just fallen on 3x good months.
Anything for me to be concerned about here? Rather nervous as a first time buyer, expected this to fly through, so just a bit concerned that the underwriter is questioning this..

An underwriters job is to question everything.
Just be open and honest about anything and everything they ask and let them make a decision.
Don't forget if Santander are not happy, you will have other options!0
