Terminal Bonus

I have a 25 year CIS endowment which will mature this year.

It was supposed to pay out £40K for my £70 a month contribution (21K paid in)

Basic sum assured was just under 19K so when you add annual bonuses it stands at just under 25K.

When are terminal bonus amounts decided, I know that over last few years CIS/Royal London as they are now called paid between 50-70% of the basic sum assured..

My low medium and high forecasts are between 34 and 37.5K.

I can surrender for 36K or let it run until the end of the year,

Advice most welcome

The rate of terminal bonus can be altered at any time but most companies set rates at the year end and apply the new rates for the coming year. The same rate may be in force for months and sometimes for the whole of the coming year.

It may help if you look at my posting history. One of my first posts describes how an endowment works.
