Uber - £25 voucher - first 10 trips?

Options
I have never used "Uber", so signed up today - using a promo code "NEWRIDER25" - which stated £25 off your first trip - see first entry on this page -

https://discountcodes.trustedreviews.com/uber-uk

However my account shows this -

Welcome to Uber! Enjoy $2.50 off each of your first 10 rides.
United States - Jul 24, 2019

So is it £25 off the first trip? Or £2.50 off the first 10 trips?

That looks like you’ve signed up to Uber in the US and not the UK.

Thanks for your reply - I thought I had signed up for the U.K. version

I've now sent them a message, asking them to look into this.

Not sure how this happened, since the voucher was for £25 GBP STERLING off - but in any case, Uber have closed the case thus -

Thanks for letting us know you were able to apply this promotional code to your account and apologies if this caused any confusion.

The free ride promotion you earned is in US dollars, hence why it will not apply to your trip in the UK. However, we understand that this could have been a frustrating experience for you. Since this is your first time using the Uber app, we've added £3 Uber credit which is the value of this promotion in UK, to your account for you to use towards your future ride.

I suppose £3 off is better than nothing!

Well, that’s an interesting exchange rate.
