That's how my contract works. I can take all my holiday entitlement in the first three quarters of the holiday year and have none left for the minimum in the final (Jan - March) quarter. It's just to stop people piling up holidays and having to take all of March off and impacting on Easter workloads.

Legally they could tell you exactly when you can take your holiday so having to take specific amounts in specific periods is not a problem. However from a practical point of view it would be worth asking how exactly they see it working i.e. will you have to take exactly 50%?0
