They do in Scotland, in the form of a final discharge letter to the GP that details the date of visit, the reason for visit, the number of emergency department visits in the previous 12 months, the outcome of the visit and any changes to medication.0 -
They do get a letter in England as well. It’s a discharge letter. I know this as we have a casualty dept attached to the dept I work in.Mortgage free wannabe

If you want the details of your visit to A&E then you need to contact the hospital you went to and make a subject access request for your records from them.
As others have said all the GP is likely to get will be a summary to say that you attended, what the presenting issue was and what the outcome was, I don’t think the GP will get sent the specific results of individual tests that were carried out, especially if the results were within normal parameters.
If you do not have electronic access to your GP records and want to see them, then you can also make a subject access request to the GP for your records from them as well.0 -

No GP will let you check your medical records online. You have to go and see them.

Yes, they do.
After I fell and broke my wrist my GP called me in for a whole raft of unnecessary tests. She got a letter from the hospital, I was never asked for consent.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Doesn't the sharing of info within the NHS depend on whether the patient has opted in or out of the Enhanced(?) Care Record?
I opted out when it was introduced years ago (I used to work in the NHS) but I've had second thoughts since I had an emergency admission to hospital in February. Because I'd opted out, the Pharmacy Dept could not access my prescription record from my GP and had to rely on my memory as to what meds I was on. For various reasons, my memory turned out to be less than perfect!0
