Home delivery to first floor flat
Does anyone know which supermarkets offer a home delivery service where they will carry the shopping up to a first floor flat rather than leaving it at the front door to the block of flats? Asking on behalf of a single Mum with a young baby who has heard that drivers now refuse to carry the shopping up a flight of stairs as it is a health and safety risk. She cannot leave the youngster in the flat alone whilst she goes down to fetch it up.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Is this one flight of stairs?
I find it bizarre that she won't leave the baby in the flat whilst she goes downstairs.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Has she tried any yet? https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-6955339/amp/We-reveal-supermarkets-compare-online-deliveries.html
This article suggests Sainsbury's, Tesco or Waitrose might be the best bets. You could always call the delivery helpline to enquire if they will beforehand if you're not sure. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving a young baby to unload either.0 -

A first floor flat. The 'baby' is one year old and into everything, so she would have to put 'baby' into the cot to ensure she was not causing havoc. At which case, she would show her displeasure at being left in the cot by screaming and annoying the neighbours. As she has just moved in, she doesn't want to get on the wrong side of the neighbours.0 -

#3.6.4 of Asda's T&Cs state they will unless they feel the stairs are structurally unsafe

Ask the retailers who deliver.
If you don't you may find some replies will say the driver will bring it up when it isn't something they should do.0 -
My flat is at the end of my landlords garden (long story but basically the main house was a bakers and my flat was the bakery) and none of the shops bring it up the garden for me. Asda, Tesco, Ocado and Sainsburys all say that they can't go through the garage to go up the garden for health and safety reasons. If it was all open and their wasnt a garage, it would be fine.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. I live in a first floor flat and have had deliveries from Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys. I have only had 1 driver complain but I had stocked up on sparkling water and there was 24 2 litre bottles plus a case of Pepsi Max he had a right moan but that's the only issue I had.0
