Have 1 CCJ but need a loan for studies.
Hello All
I am looking to get a loan for £5000 to be repayed over 5 years and hoping to avoid 39%apr. I have also become an English Citizen last september and have registered to vote ect since last year before Sept and notified the Council on my change of citizenship to be put on my voter id profile.
My Experian score is 658
The only slight problem is i have a CCJ roughly in the ammount of £800 and i am working via Agency.
My CCJ is related due to a electric bill that i had assumed was a scam due to reciving the bill a year after i had moved away from the property and only in a message via e-mail. At the time i did call npower who i had the debt with however it was strange how i had accrued such a huge debt even though i had moved and a year passed.
I had no choice but to put in a payment plan as i was due to start an Agency job with a Bank. Terms for that was to start a repayment for this.
Safe to say i am now paying 10 pounds a month just to get the Debt Company off my back while i deal with other pressing matters .
Any advice on getting a loan with the least ammount of APR is appreciated.
Kind Regards
HB

Netherlands . Yes there is a student loan there . But to pay the rent first semester and to move there plus to start paying the university fees . I will be able to get a job and deal with all other costs. The main issue is having enough coing to get everything roling.0

Only paying £10 a month to an existing defaulted debt tells lenders you can afford any further borrowing, especially for such a small debt.
Any chance of lending you have will come with a three or four figure APR.0 -
Zero chance basically0

You have British citizenship not English.
Didn’t you pass the Life in the UK test?
Zero chance of getting a loan with a £10 a month repayment plan. How are you going to afford the repayments on a £5000 loan?0 -
Try a money transfer cardHello All

The ccj will show on your credit history, but not the repayment rate, Getting it settled will improve things a bit.
If you do get the card, you should be looking to clear it within 2 years, otherwise the high interest kicks in.0 -

I asked what study, not where.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
So your wanting to get a loan to study in the Netherlands. No way.
Also with paying £10 a month for current debt. How are you going to affords the repayments in £100s. IS the bank work your only job. No way you will be approved on such a low Income, ccj and paying only £10 a month on a current debt.Mortgage free wannabe
Actual mortgage stating amount £75,150
Overpayment paused to pay off cc
Starting balance £66,565.45
Current balance £55,819
Cc debt free.0 -
If you have a loan offer for 39% on £5000 over 60 months you wont be able to afford it @ £175 a month when you can only afford £10 a month to clear a £800 debt.0

Instead of borrowing more money, why not get a 2nd job to pay off what you already owe? Go back to studying when you can afford it.0
