pickled beetroot

Hi i stared an allotment last September I have just harvested some beets i often eat them roasted or boiled . I have already got a lot of them boiling as we speak and also sterilizing the jars
I bought some Sarsons pickling vinegar for quickness this time ,
My question is do i have to heat the vinegar ? or can i just pour over
sliced beets in jars ? I have never pickled before.:o thank you

I used to just pour over the still warm cooked beetroot

BTW, I used the water they were boiled in for beetroot wine, very similar method extracting the juice as there is to boiling. Have to scrub beetroots well before you start of course

Thank you for your reply I will do that , and maybe next time I try other types of vinegar

I used bog standard malt vinegar, but have use the Sarson's stuff, just to get the jar really
