Debt to creditors

Hi all, Me and my wife are currently not financially joint as she is paying a token payment to creditors (she owes around 15k) and we need my credit file to look good for our mortgage etc. Shes had these debts now for over 10 years and when she started to get into trouble she had pay plan handle the payments. Stev,

You are a little fish, in a big pond, it’s a process all banks/companies are familiar with, if they produce what there supposed too, then that’s the end of the matter, but if they can’t, then things get interesting, and the upper hand falls to you.

The account will be unenforceable without the correct legal paperwork, you can then choose what to do.

You really should read up on what creditors can and cannot do, might ease your mind somewhat.
