Facebook comp etiquette on tags/comments

Options
Hi all,

I have a FB profile for competitions and have several MSEers as my friends. But I often wonder on the etiquette when one of them tags me in a post/competition.

Is it sufficient for me to like their tag, or should I comment on it too? I don't want to be bumping their notifications with me just saying thank you. I don't mind them just liking my tags without a comment, but wondered how others feel.

Happy comping everyone.

Most competitions that ask for a tag don't need the people who have been tagged to do anything for the entry to count so it makes no difference

Doesn't make a difference, most of the time if your friend wins you get nothing anyway.

If it's one of those comps where you and a friend win, then I'd probably throw a like at it since there's a chance I might win something too, but otherwise meh

You don't do anything. You don't like or comment on the tag. It's just a way for the comp runner to reach more people and most people wouldn't expect you to like or comment on that tag.

There could be an argument that if you like and or comment then it shows to the competition provider that your pairing has a better influence than others because both of you have interacted with their post, so technically this could give you a better chance ... but the chances are they aren't looking at that anyway and like I said above, you probably won't win anything anyway, it'll just be whoever tagged you.
