Nationwide mortgage

Options
Warning long post 😂

Im hoping for a bit of reassurance regarding a recent application to Nationwide for our mortgage.

The original house we where buying earlier on in the year fell through and this is where our problems began. We decided to proceed with the sale of our house and move into rented putting us into a good position to pounce on our dream home! 2 weeks into our tenancy and surprise surprise we found a great house and had an offer accepted! Got our AIP with nationwide and offer through. Ive just checked our credit files and our scores have dropped to poor!! The reason being equifax has yet to link our banks, electrol roll etc to the new rental house that the application is connected to!
I'm literally falling to pieces that Nationwide will do a credit check before/after exchange which is imminent and withdraw our offer!! The paranoia is taking over my life!

So stressful.. can anyone reassure me please.

Are you using a broker or direct with nationwide? Either way, contact them for advice and support.

    Thanks
We are not using a broker we did for our last mortgage and I will never do it without one again!
We applied directly through nationwide and Ive spoke to our consultant who told me to stop googling and I sounded like his wife!!
Our credit reports are spot on! Always have been hence why our scores have always been excellent. I just can't understand why my hubby s score has dropped to poor... only the fact that our banks, electrol roll etc are still havnt been updated to the property we renting!
  • Your 'score' is just a made up number that nobody else sees. From this point forward, pay that no further attention.

I am sure that you will have paperwork that states your new address (tenancy agreement, council tax etc) and I am sure that you will still have paperwork from your previous address.

These CRA's don't know anything that you don't so stop fretting about them.

For what it's worth, my mortgage is with Nationwide. I have never been on the electoral roll in my life, I never disclose my DOB (or the correct one at least) to anyone except the government and my mortgage went through quickly and without fuss.

Oh, I dealt with them direct too. I can't see why your average man-in-the-street would need to use a broker at all. I never did with any of my previous mortgages either. I can see the case for ex-bankrupts or people up to their eyes in debt already or other special cases but not an ordinary application.

Easy to say, I know but just calm down and what will be will be. If it all goes tits up, there will always be another house and by that time the CRA might just have updated themselves.

    Good luck.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I have read that the scores don't mean anything but non the less it's scary to see when we are pretty anal about everything credit related!

I suppose the main reason I'm worried also is that you hear horror stories about people losing deposits etc which would be a huge amount for us as it's our second property (move up the ladder).

We've always been with nationwide, previous mortgage, loan, current accounts with no problem but I'm still really anxious.

If nationwide were to check our reports and ignore the score then they would see that everything is above board paid on time always no further credit applications since mortgage one...

Oh well fingers crossed it all goes well and we have the keys in a few weeks! Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

He said what? This clown is in the wrong job.

Nationwide will most likely approve your case. If not, just have a Broker place the lending elsewhere for you, no problem.

Thanks for the reply. I know, he basically said I'm overreacting and we will be fine... I'm sure it's nerve wracking time for anyone and everyone who's in this situation!

I think it's heightened by the fact we are renting a tiny terrace in the meantime for 6 of us and a dog ! The thought of having to squash in here much longer is driving us insane. Anyway worse things happen at sea at least we have a roof over our heads.
