Mortgage 3 years residency problem

So we moved from a European country 2 years ago. And are trying to get mortgage but at Nationwide they told us that without the three years residency we can not get mortgage. Do you know any bank that can give us mortgage without this condition ? We can not go to private Landers as the interest rate is too much. So if anyone knows about anything that can be done please give me a cue.

Yes. There are lenders who will have no issue with this. I have done one recently for someone who has moved back to the UK after 8 yrs abroad and we applied for their mortgage within 2 weeks of them being back in the UK.

We're EU nationals. We had less than 2.5 years address history at the end of February when Santander issued our offer. 95% LTV and we applied for around 10% less than the max they were willing to offer us.
Incidentally, they are our main bank as well, but broker insisted it didn't make THAT much difference. There were two other lenders in the running, but Santander had the best offer of the three + we'll be getting 1% cashback on our mortgage payments. Good luck0 -
My partner, Australian with U.K. citizenship, been in the U.K. less than two years when we applied.
I did considerable research reading the lending criteria for all the best buys at the time and speaking to all the banks.
Options I found for under two years in the U.K. at that time were Yorkshire Building Society (who we ended up with), First Direct, HSBC and Santander.
There were more options available for people from the EU and once you were over two years. But I didn't consider these as we didn't meet this criteria.
This was almost two years ago now so it could have changed.0 -

Brokers are people who are qualified to give you mortgage advice. Typically they have access to and knowledge of many lenders and they will help you find the correct lender for your circumstances.
Typically they will charge you a fee of between £0 to £750 but in your circumstances it might be money well spent.
Ask friends or family for recommendations of a local mortgage broker or google and speak to a couple and see who you feel comfortable with.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
