Pension linked mortgage

Hi all,
In 1995 my wife and I purchased our first home and took advice through John Charcoal. Consequently we got a pension linked mortgage: Mortgage with Abbey National and Pension with Scottish Life. We then sold the house in 1999.
1 - Could this have been miss sold to us?
2 - I lost track of the pension as we moved. As a pension linked to a mortgage if I were to trace it now would it still have a value or due to any fees associated with John Charcoal could I be looking at owing money?
Any thoughts would be welcome 👍

Why do you think that it might have been mid-sold, and why the interest?
Compo?
If so, how miserable a compo face can you pull, and what do you intend to point at for illustration as you are pulling it?0 -
As above, why have you been mis sold?
Who was responsible for losing track of the pension?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
