Help to Buy ISA for 'First time buyer'

Hi all,
I have just a quick query - I am looking at the Help to Buy ISA's available at the moment, however they are saying you must NEVER have owned a property before.
I purchased a property roughly 10-12 years ago and subsequently sold it a few years later - when I spoke with a mortgage advisor recently they told me that because I brought the property over 6 years ago, technically I would still be considered a 'First time buyer'.
Could anybody help as to weather this is true and I could still apply for an ISA?
Many Thanks for any help x

Some lenders may consider you a FTB as you haven’t had a mortgage for a few years, but no you are not eligible for other government FTB initiatives - isa, stamp duty relief.0

As aries says, some lenders may choose to give you an FTB product but the Government does not consider you a FTB.I am a mortgage broker.
