Hiya JM,
I must have missed your message about Matched betting.
I will PM you this afternoon. As I really can't seem to get my head around it.

Thanks, but I am not a child who needs to be told what to do. But thanks for stating the blindingly obvious!!!!!
I want to talk it through with someone who has done it and see if I can understand it better. If not then I wont be doing it. Not that it is any of your business in the first place.

Thanks, but I am not a child who needs to be told what to do. You are reacting rather childishly, though, when you are being good advice rather than being 'told what to do' But thanks for stating the blindingly obvious!!!!! Unfortunately the blindingly obvious is what is so often overlooked....
I want to talk it through with someone who has done it and see if I can understand it better. If not then I wont be doing it. Not that it is any of your business in the first place. How rude. If you don't want people to comment, then probably better not to post here.
See above - and remember that just being able to ' understand it better' doesn't make it a good idea....Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Exodi,
Can I PM you about this. As I have tried so many times to get my head around this. It could be because I don't have a mathematical mind.
Absolutely. If you do not understand it then stay well clear of it.
That's some questionable logic, how do you propose anyone learns anything?See above - and remember that just being able to ' understand it better' doesn't make it a good idea....
It doesn't make matched betting a good idea? Calleyw let this serve as a taste of what's to come; Ignorant people who have absolutely no idea what it is giving you their 2¢. The friends I've shown that have managed to stick to it call me every now and then to thank me for the holidays and Christmas's they can afford that they weren't previously able to.
It boggles my mind that people whole-heartedly recommend people do surveys for 5 pence a day but tell people that entirely risk-free matched betting for sometimes £100 a day is a mugs game.Know what you don't0 -
Going back to your original query, why not see if there are any local vacancies for Parish Clerks? With your life and work experience I would think you'd be ideal - planning applications seem to make up the bulk of the work (well... and potholes!)
Meetings vary and can be monthly or in the case of my current parish, 3 x a year. The rest is at home. You can get as involved or not as you like with the local community, hourly pay is reasonable and a friend, who does 8 parishes, does it full time. Mad but still. You meet some lovely and interesting people (some more interesting than lovely!!) but they've usually got the needs of local residents at heart, so you'd be putting back.
Ads can be fund in local papers or your county parish councils association.
It's also worth keeping an eye on local papers as quirky little jobs are often advertised there but not on websites. I got one working for the trustees of a small local charity (I'm the only employee) and it's fab. A tiny ad in the local paper.
Good luck. Interested in your replies as I'm always on the look-out for something else.
