Should Squatters have rights? Poll Results/Discussion

Hi multiple home owners,
A squatter cannot steal your bricks and mortar. The building is still there.
(They can trash a building's fittings but that is a different criminal offence - put forward a reasoned argument for beefing up police attention to the crime involved - criminal damage?).
A squatter can steal your use of the Queen's land (and your building that happens to be "parked" on it); if they not you have used it continually for 12 years. You can protect your interest by registering it at the Land Registry. If you do, you have to be told that the squatter is in residence at year 10, giving you 2 clear years to take action to enforce your rights.
As the land of England and Wales is in limited supply if you are failing to make use of the Queen's grant of rights of use of this scarce resource, you are selfishly dispossessing the rest of your fellow citizens. If someone else can make use of the land, the Queen's law will eventually let them supplant you.
There is something at work in the minds of the "all squatters are scum" brigade; that is more deep seated than the fear of losing money. Perhaps it is just the pressure of living in an unsustainable overcrowded island?
How will the owners of multiple properties react when the market "steals" tens of thousands of pounds from them in the next 12 months?0 -
Surely squatting is the only way up the property ladder for many people, given the way the w*nkers with all the money are controlling the property.0

Why should anyone have the right to occupy someone else's property?
If someone owns a house it is p to them whether they live in it, rent it to someone for a rent, or leave it standing empty. I fail to see what business it can be of anyone else if I leave my property dormant.
I believe if anyone is in occupation of a property they don't own they should have a rental agreement, without which they should be forcibly removed by the police for an offence of criminal trespass. Any damage caused should be paid for, if necessary by deductions from pay or benefits. It should also be made much easier to evict people with rent arrears, it is farcical that some get away with paying no rent for months or even years.
One of the reasons that there is a shortage of decent rental property is that the law is loaded too much in favour of tenants, enabling the garbage in society to abuse it.0
