Credit card and mortgage applications

Hi all, I'm after some advice. I'm going abroad next month, and the moneysaver in me want to apply for a credit card with no foreign exchange fees for spending while away. However, I'm also due to remortgage pretty much as soon as I get back, so I'm looking for advice about what impact the credit search could have on the mortgage application with them potentially being so close?
There are no other hard searches on my experian file within the last 12 months.
Thoughts and advice appreciated!

I doubt 1 or 2 searches will have an impact on a remortgage. Assuming you will be settling the credit card on your return.0

Are you going abroad for a short period of time? Just get currency! A new credit card is literally applying for credit, which is not advised. It might be fine, but it's a gamble to save a few quid. I'd just get the currency via traditional means, but it depends what kind of trip and how confident you are in your current position.0

1 search is unlikely to be a deal breaker.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Why not get a Starling account? No fees for overseas spending or cash, and no hard search unless you accept an overdraft.0

Thanks all,
Its a 2 week trip to Spain but, looking at the barclaycard platinum plus, the card is fee-free until 2023 so I'd likely use it again in future.
My credit history is faultless and although I juggle a couple of cashback credit cards, they are paid in full every month.
I've not heard of Starling before, but will take a look.0
