Why Does My Amazon Order Say Dispatched 15th Nov But Expected Del Date Is 4th Dec?

I order 2 items from Amazon under super saver delivery and to group all items in one package. However, on 15th I had an email from amazon saying they had despatched part of my order. As I haven't received it yet and Ive just checked on my order and it says despatched 15th November - expected delivery date 4th Dec. The other item I ordered is not expected to be despatched between 27 Nov and 4 Dec. Do Amazon send out emails saying items are despatched but it takes that long to get them?

At a guess you are using the free delivery option. I suppose it is for the courier firm to decide when they are in the area to make it the cheap option.0

Hello stressedoutmum
Yes they do. I've found Amazon delivery times are rubbish (but it's my fault for chosing the free delivery option:o ) and I'm often left wondering whether my package has been 'lost in the post'............and then it finally arrives.
Play.com on the other hand are brilliant at delivery times............and they have free delivery.
So why do I buy from Amazon? I'll order from Amazon if their price is cheaper than play.com............and I don't need the goods urgently (eg for a present) and I'm prepared for a long wait.
Amazon and play.com have never failed to deliver.............but play.com is far superior on delivery times.;)
I have no connection to either company.

I have to say I agree with Nile, I avoid amazon if at all possible. If they are cheaper by a long way that is the only time i use them.
I have ordered some stuff this week, but only cos i had £19 of gift vouchers to use by the end of this year!!! I will not order after november for stuff for christmas as there delivery takes so long. Even when i have paid for first class delivery things still usually take a week.
Also love play.com, great free quick delivery!!!0 -
Thanks everyone - guess its just wait:rolleyes:0
