5% off One4all vouchers for Egg customers

What's the deal?
Anyone with a Egg credit card can take advantage of a loophole to get 5% off spending in 126 different retailers including B&Q, Mothercare and Woolworths and on activities such as Butlins, Legoland and Virgin Experiences. This is because it currently has a promotion giving a 5% discount on 'One4All' gift vouchers, which can be spent in a wide range of shops; and there's nothing stopping you buying them and spending them yourself.
What else do I need to know?
You don’t need to specify which retailer you want to use in advance and can just use the vouchers as cash with any of the retailers involved. See a full list of retailers.
Vouchers should be ordered before 31 Dec 2007 and are valid for 18 months from the date of issue. Also, Egg customers don't have to pay delivery or transaction fees.
What happens to any change?
One thing to be careful of, as with any voucher, is what happens to your change if you don’t spend the full amount, say you only spend £18 of a £20 voucher.
As there are different retailers involved in this scheme, each will have a different policy on this, some offering money as change, some offering vouchers for the difference and some offering nothing. You should check the individual policy of the store before you spend any vouchers.
Vouchers can be purchased for any amount from £10 to £100 in £1 units and you can buy more than one voucher, so if you know you want to buy something for £149 from Comet you can order exactly £149 of vouchers, but at a cost of £141.55.
How do you get the vouchers?
Click the red ORDER NOW button on the special One4all / Egg page, enter your order details (select One4all in the description box) and enter the code GVSEGG07 at the checkout.
What other rewards do Egg offer?
There are other offers available from Egg that change from time to time. See other rewards currently available.

Would a purchase made in this way benefit from the consumer protection you get if you pay with a credit card? If not, the five per cent saving could end up being a false economy.0

You'd be covered under the CCA for the purchase of the vouchers ONLY. You would NOT be covered for whatever you spend the vouchers on. So, to clarify, if the vouchers didn't turn up you'd be covered, but if you bought a £149 gizmo from Comet with the vouchers and it didn't turn up, you'd not be covered by the CCA. Obviously, your statutory rights wouldn't be affected.
