I'm having problems applying for a loan, I keep getting turned down. I've never missed any payments and other loans have always been payed off. After speaking to one loan company and giving them all the details they wanted they then asked me about the £14000 I owe which was taken out in July 2003. Well this came as a surprise to me. I don't have a clue where they got this info from.

Sounds like you need to check your credit files asap. If you go via www.quidco.com, you can one months free with Experien (just have to remember to cancel the direct debit before the end of the month). It maybe that someone has used your identity?
