SIPP Provider / Platform

Hi,

So I'm thinking about starting a SIPP after my last thread, I have a high risk profile I would say, initially at least i'd be looking to purchase individual shares, AIM and FTSE etc. I'd probably move to safer investments over time. Which platform is the best for this type of investing? I use HL for my ISA but charges seem high for SIPP?

I find SnowMan's spreadsheet very good because you can calculate the fee of each platform using your own investment amounts and number of deals.
However it does not take into account the cheaper regular investment dealing fees for the likes of Halifax which is £2 rather than the normal £12.50

HL is among the cheapest if you are holding shares (includes IT's & ETFs) especially if you have a large amount. Their dealing costs however are not cheap, so if you are doing lots of share dealing, probably not good to use them.
