Starting new job, employee changes start date

I am due to start a new job on Tuesday. The new employer accepted my request for a start date of the 11th and has not confirmed location or manager to report to.
I have prompted them to tell me where to be and who to ask for. They have confirmed that the internal recruiter I was dealing with has left and the start date that I agreed with her has not been handed over.
A contract has been signed between us with a nominal TBD start date agreed. Email has subsequently seen start dates agreed.
They may be able to bring start forward, Which would still be backwards to me.
I am asking for pay for the period between when we agreed to start and starting.
If they refuse to pay this period, I am allowed to withdraw my acceptance and look for another job?

You are always allowed to look for another job. But you might not be immediately successful, so perhaps better not to withdraw acceptance until you have something better. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Holy Christ. Strangely, I have a feeling you won't need to withdraw your acceptance...Know what you don't0 -
There not going to pay you for work that has not been done, if the start date has been changed there not going to pay you for any days before this.0
