OP you have 2 choices either follow the advice given by the job centre or stop your claim and look for a job on your own. If your claiming UC then you have to abide by the rules.

This is true, and the U.K. has some of the very highest benefits in the world, especially for those who have never contributed in the first place.

As Marx said, he who will not work, neither shall he eat. The idea of supporting people who could work but choose not to is controversial, and can be corrosive to society.

Bit snobby to say that working in McDonalds and Tesco is beneath you. At least those who work there have jobs and self respect where as you are a dole bum refusing to work.

Even if you take a job at somewhere like this you can still carry on looking for a job in your chosen field while working at McDonalds or Tesco. There will already be people who work in those places that don't intend to stay there for ever.

You also sound like you have a problem with people younger than you in authority. How will you come across in a job interview for a job you DO want to do if the interviewer is also young??

Are you for real calling someone a dole bum. He's not been unemployed for long, you not been unemployed before?

They could call you scum for not paying your debts. I can't stand people like you.

He's refusing to work with the stereotypical attitude that working in McDonalds is just "flipping burgers" and working in Tesco is just "stacking shelves" (is that even a thing nowadays? most stuff comes in SRP* and just slides on the shelf no stacking involved). I've worked 8 years in a supermarket and my job was a lot more involved than just "stacking shelves" and this was a normal assistant job, not management/supervisory.

Oh and my debt? Well it's under £2K now the lowest it's ever been. Loads of people owe more than that on overdrafts, HP, loans etc without batting an eyelid. I recently took on a new boring mundane job so I can pay it off even quicker and to ensure I never get into debt again. It's boring and heavy graft but it pays wells.

And the debts you didn't pay?

You can't call people names like a dole bum when you've got debts you haven't paid, money you've had for nothing. Your debts now mean diddly squat, your demeaning someone who has supposedly claimed for a short period. Have you claimed benefits?

Maybe this person thinks they'll get a better job, though there's nothing wrong with working in macdonalds.

Debt is debt, you should pay it all not slag others off. You've managed to get off with a lot of your debt. Doesn't matter what others owe you've left a alot of it behind you and call others names. I could call you a thief!

Demeaning someone? Take a look at your own post history.

Yes I have been on JSA before and took on a job after 4 weeks because it paid more than what I was getting on JSA, not because it was my dream job. Getting that job and being employed I found I got a lot more interview offers for more better jobs.
