Ok, I think I see what has happened. When someone starts to receive a pension it normally becomes their main record, and therefore gets all the allowances. Then, following your phone calls the contact centre have sent messages to the main office to get the records sorted out and give you your allowances again. Now this process has started to make your employment your main record again it is normal for your pension to now be taxed at BR.
You will probably in the next few days get another notice of coding giving you your allowances at your employment again.
When you speak to a contact centre they are quite limited in what they can do. Their procedure is to send an electronic message through to the main tax office, who then deal with it.
If records need to move between offices (as is likely in your case) then further delays are involved.
if you ring up again you need to make sure that they understand you want your employment to be your main income and have your allowances, and your pension to be taxed at BR. Also check that the new code for your employment has actually been issued, and possibly ask for it to be re-issued just in case.0
