    A tip for you, either tell your to not do it again or label the lead as PS3 or similar.

    This is the formula for working out the current (i.e the fuse rating), given the power consumption and voltage.

    I=P/V

    Where:

    I = current in Amps
    P = power in Watts
    V = voltage in Volts (i.e. 230V mains)

    According to Wikipedia, PS3 models vary in power, but the most power-hungry consume a maximum of 200W, yet come with a 380W PSU. So, let's use the biggest 380W value to be totally on the safe-side.

    I = P / V
    I = 380 Watts / 230 Volts
    I = 1.65 Amps

    So a 3A fuse will be fine.

    5A is normal for electrical items, but 3A would be fine too.
