I don’t know what you mean by loud.

I will clarify. The case here
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-48520176

Is about women not being given enough time to make adjustments.
I am asking what the relevance of fortune is to this.
Indeed the only people who would have been able to make adjustments would be those fortunate enough through health and/or skills to make adjustments.
The most unfortunate would not have been able to whether informed or not.

Your sentences aren’t making too much sense.

CAPITALISED words are considered shouting = loud!

    As for typos....well?

Nothing needs clarified apart from your confusing and offensive posts and, actually, don't bother!
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience

It does sound like she's taken the current single tier pension rate and just multiplied that by the number of weeks from age 60 until SPA.
    I think that's exactly what she's done.
Well, as she's a WASPI/Backto60 supporter there's no surprise there.
The only thing that surprises me is that nobody actually put these people on the spot and asks them to substantiate these claims.

But then again, I shouldn't really be surprised as

I've listened to lots of (WASPI) women embroider (to be kind) the truth to make them sound more hard-done-to than is the reality.

I heard it in the televised debates back in January 2016.
Shame on those women who misrepresent their circumstances.
However, as a (presumably) member of the NHS pension scheme, she will have been contracted out from her first day of service until April 2016, and so would only have been entitled to the old basic State pension (which was about £112 per week 5 years ago) plus another £4.50 (ish) per week post 2016.
That's why I asked the question.
As a person contracted out for the whole of my working life with the full number of NI qualifying years and already in receipt of my state pension, the figure quoted by Ms French didn't ring true. ;)

Thanks to Paul_Herring for the analysis. :T

If she is telling the truth she states that she has lost £49,000 from the age of 60 to the age of 64 so that would mean she would be getting £235 a week!
    Indeed.
And I think - for the reasons stated above - one should take the claims and statements made by WASPI/Backto60 women with a pinch of salt. ;)

What were you absolutely prevented from doing? (Apart from fighting in the front line) and did you protest at the time?

Reading skills defective too? I have never claimed to have been prevented from doing anything I wanted - and have never had need to protest. No idea what you are on about - again, again!

I've asked you already - are you a pilot? I've only asked because you offered that as an occupation. Actually, don't bother. I'm out.

I thought that it was all capitals that indicated shouting.

On fora that doesn't have the facility to put text in bold (or even in texts I send) I use capitals for the odd word that I wish to emphasise.

No I never said I was a commercial pilot or it was an occupation.
I do have a private pilots licence - yes.
About 40 years ago. Gender was never an issue but I think a lot of that is down to attitude.
If you have a “can do” attitude then you can do anything you put your mind to just like the women in the war or historical figures like ann lister, Florence nightingale (it’s nothing new).

Apologies if anyone is upset by my predictive text or dyslexsia.
It doesn’t in my experience stop people achieving anything.
It unhealthy for people to be obsessed and upset about a few typos some of which are down to predictive text.

Yes, my point exactly! Even one word in capitals is considered shouting and when someone writes 'YOU HAD A CHOICE' (or words to that effect) then that's hectoring in my book.

This fora does have the facility for enbolding or italics or colour change or even underlining - all of which can add emphasis without causing offence.

My argument is not with you.

Yes sure I have no issue with italics or bold.

I apologise if my caps which was meant purely for emphasis upset you.

Ok, if I do that in future?

Apologies for my dyslexia and predictive text as well.

    Oh come on.

    Of course it was.

Yes some pioneering women blazed a trail but they were the exception and it was not easy for them.

A very intelligent friend of mine tells me that she could not go to university as she had to leave school and get a job to help support her family and it was not up for discussion.

If you think women had the same opportunities 40 years ago you are seriously deluded and should try googling it.

I never asked about you being a commercial pilot but thanks for clearing up what you meant.

I still think that you are deluded in that opinion, however I concede that it is your opinion and you're entitled to it. Sheesh...

Not sure that predictive text can change text to upper case just when you want to emphasis a point and are lecturing people?

Like when you pointed out my typo so quickly????

I didn't think your 'argument' - if that is what it is - was with me.

There is a difference between shouting and emphasis.

I would not use capitals for emphasis on this board because - as you quite rightly point out - this fora does have the facility for enbolding (sic) or italics or colour change or even underlining.
My point was about netiquette in general.
