O/S Daily Sunday 2nd June 2019

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Good morning all

Another beautiful morning here. I did manage to cut he lawn yesterday and clear away some of the mess left as the bluebells and tulips as they died back.

    Nothing much planned for today

    Morning everyone

Silver-oldie - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x

Bright but light cloud to start the day here, very warm tho.

DH and myself enjoying first cuppas - I've just eaten my porridge, and will go for a shower shortly. DS1 still in his pit, and DS2 settled and ok.

Dinner last night was scotch eggs, pizza, pork pie, chips and side salad - was lovely. Today we'll be having roast pork, roasties, mash, cauli/broc cheese, carrots, swede, peas, yorkshires and gravy. This morning we'll be visiting the parents. Then chilled afternoon.

Yesterday work was quite busy but it was the 1st of the month, so it we knew it'd likely be the case.

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning :)

Grey again but still dry for now.

My chill weekend is going well lots of nothing and for once I dont feel guilty. Yesterday I watched Mary Poppins (the old one) to add to the feel good tank and yes it was as lovely as ever.

Remember me saying it was chilli for dinner? Well it turned out to be steak and kidney :o Lovely though with some veg and mini potatoes. Enough left for today which I'm already looking forward to. Crumpets first though hot and buttery

Nothing else to report so enjoy your day if you can

    Good morning.

Just a quick visit, today will be one of rest and recuperation. I may well shuffle some paperwork around, fiddle with a spreadsheet and faff with books in between feeding DM but that's the size of it!

I wish everyone a happy Sunday.

    Morning All

After a brief respite from the rain yesterday it's back to being wet and windy! Luckily all the washing dried outside yesterday so not much to do today.

This morning I've sorted all my emails including renewing my travel insurance. When DGD was here she painted some clay hearts so I've strung them up to put on her bed head, just need to decide what to do with DGSs spiders!

I may take this wet day to sort some holiday stuff out, the big case needs to come down from the loft and I need to look out some gifts I've bought for the Ozzies.

Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX

Nice and dry and bright here I have stripped the beds and got them on in the wash, OH will remake the beds later on.

We have a few jobs to do before we go out walking for the afternoon, we have to pack the ebay parcels and list some more bits, do the beds and make the overnight oats for Monday and Tuesday.

Then we will get out with the pup for a nice walk somewhere and possibly take a picnic.

Just looked at my weekly report on my fitbit type thing and at work last week I walked 52.5 miles !! Its no wonder I am shattered and my feet are throbbing every night.

BBQ for dinner tonight again which we both love, I might do some homemade hummus to go with it tonight.

    Have good days all xx

DD, sil and baby stayed overnight so DD and husband could have a date night. I have offered to do the same one night a month if they want so they get a chance to be "people" rather than solely parents. I waved them off after they had some breakfast as they have a busy day ahead and have a load of bedding to get washed and dry but forecast is showers so might have to use the tumble drier.

I phoned an older dd and suggested she gets the bus to me as I have a sore throat and want to stay inside with lots of hot drinks and just coddle myself. Think I might have a virus as I kept waking up on Friday night feeling feverish and having to splash cold water on my face. Half term so no cleaner to help and house is looking messy so will pace myself and get beds made up tonight or tomorrow morning and upstairs bathroom cleaned. The in laws are coming round on Tuesday so I will toddle round with the Shark and tidy the kitchen before they arrive.

I bought a couple of ready made curries so me and dd can have that for lunch and I will have something on toast tonight. DD was enjoying the cheese omelette I made in the omelette maker she had bought me a couple of years ago and I mentioned the red copper chef which can make an omelette or cook pizza, chicken, steak, fish etc in five minutes. She seemed really intrigued and I just found out it is reduced by ten pounds so have ordered one which will arrive tomorrow.

I thought about doing a grocery order but might wait a bit as can't seem to concentrate so heaven knows what I could end up buying but it could be interesting.

    Hugs to all

Well the rain has returned :(.
Yesterday I did cut the front lawns and then Mr Fix It took pity on me, as I was really hot and bothered and cut the back one :D.
This morning I have cleaned out the halogen oven and put the DW on.
Today will entail just cooking the Sunday lunch, roast chicken with roast pots, veg and gravy. I'm looking forward to it as I haven't had a proper roast dinner since before we went away. However I don't know if Dad will be over as it's pouring down at present. Apart from that it'll be a quiet day here after yesterdays flurry of activity :rotfl:.
taff Sorry I'm a bit late answering but no, sadly he's no good at ironing :(. He'd end up with more creases than he started with  . Hope you and Mr taff are coping with the redundancy. I'm sure you will be able to put on your OS head and fly through it.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.
    Take care

    Morning all,
Its pelting down here.We got a bit wet on our dogwalking as it started when we were in the park.
DH wants to get all the old crazy paving up from what is going to be the 'path' the council insist on.Next door is going to use some of the stones, but Dh has always hated the crazy paving and we want to renew the rest of it too,but we were waiting to see what happened.Apparently once it's all done when they come back in August to inspect, they will register the change at the Land Registry,so if we did want to move house it's all official.
DGS is staying tonight as I'm looking after him tomorrow (training day at school) but I dont think he's coming until teatime. I'm doing ribs for tea ,followed by apple pie.Not much chance of BBQing here RR,but enjoy yours :rotfl:
Elona hope your virus goes quickly

    Have a nice Sunday xx
