1st and 2nd Mortgage

Hi, just after advice. I have a main mortgage on my property and looking to get a small 2nd mortgage for home improvements. Both with the same bank. My idea was at the end of of my fixed term with main mortgage when I remortgage I’d remortgage for the amount of the 1st and 2nd combined to only have one mortgage. Will a mortgage company let me do this on a remortgage deal? My current provider would always keep the mortgages separate they said.

No need to remortgage. If you remain with your existing lender. You simply need to obtain a second sub account (loan) for the home improvements.

Yes I’m doing that but I would like to consolidate both loans when the main mortgsge fixed term comes to an end. Will another lender remortgage for both amounts?
