in Cutting tax
Hi Everyone,
I live in the UK and work for a UK based company, paid in sterling.
However, for the past year I have worked in Ireland Mon-Fri in the office of our Irish entity. I stay in a hotel when in Ireland.
My finance team have notified me that I have a tax obligation to Ireland but I’m awaiting further information.
I’ve been trying to get my head around the double tax treaty but it only seems to reference situations where I’m employed by an Irish entity while being resident in the UK. My payslips all reference our UK entity.
Any idea what my tax obligations would be?

Before delving into the nitty gritty of double taxation you should ask your employer if they will be applying "Tax Equalisation. If so, your tax affairs in both countries will be handled by professionals for you.
