Anyone awaiting a decision from Santander?

Mortgage application made on 17th May
MB told us it was with the underwriters last Friday.
Emailed MB today for any updates to be told underwriters are working through all applications sent to underwriters the same day as ours. 😬 he said he should hear either tomorrow (31st) or Monday. I’m thinking it’s going to be another long weekend!
Anyone else use Santander and have a timescale?

    What is the valuation date?

It really depends on the case. They’re not quick in general at the moment, that being said I submitted an application for a client on Tuesday and have had the offer this afternoon. But it’s a low LTV, fairly straightforward case and they did an automated valuation rather than a physical.

I haven’t a clue about the valuation date....is that normal? We’ve gone through a broker so not sure if he’d know?

Ours is quite complex, limited company and going off 1 years books. Hopefully we will get there soon!

    He should know.

Assuming your buying for an EA you can always contact them and see if it has been booked in this is how I found out.

Great I didn’t realise I could contact the EA about it. I’m trying to be good and not pester anyone but I’m starting to get anxious now and want to know what stage we are at.

Does anyone know what we are reviewing applications sent to the underwriters means? Does it mean the applications are have been through the underwriters and are being finalised or does it mean they are currently dat waiting for the underwriters to go through them?

  • Santander usually don't instruct the valuation until the case has passed their first underwriting checks.

They have also been very slow with the last few cases I've put their way.
