Old pension

Hi all - completely not an expert in pensions.
I have my current employer scheme which I consider good (17%, I pay 7, they pay 10). However, I also have an old Scottish Widows plan from a previous employer with about 25k in there with a 0.75 AMC and is invested into the "pension portfolio 2"
Last year it grew by couple hundred quid - so I think I should move it elsewhere or maybe over a balance of products.
I dont personally like the SW website as it's very clunky and not very impressive. I've considered SIPPs but probably not brave or educated enough to trade equitiies on a SIPP myself.
Any loose advise or guidance on my options and what I should consider - platforms that are maybe easy to use with reasonable fees? 39 yr old male, mortgage half paid, net 100k pa if that makes a difference?
Thanks all.

You are happy with your current workplace pension?
Had you considered a transfer in (if scheme will accept)?0 -

On what basis do you think that?
Remember that 2018 was a loss year. You say you turned a profit.I dont personally like the SW website as it's very clunky and not very impressive.
SW is dire. That is for sure. However, how often do you need online access?Any loose advise or guidance on my options and what I should consider - platforms that are maybe easy to use with reasonable fees? 39 yr old male, mortgage half paid, net 100k pa if that makes a difference?
Until we know what is wrong with what you have, its difficult to know what could possibly be right for you. I suspect you are misunderstanding investing and making a decision for the wrong reason.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I do not know the exact statistics but I would think very few people actually actively trade equities in SIPPS.I've considered SIPPs but probably not brave or educated enough to trade equitiies on a SIPP myself.
Most people just invest in a handful of ( or less) funds , so not very different from your SW pension , where probably you will also have a choice of different funds .I have my current employer scheme which I consider good
What is the reason for this positive opinion ? did it also go up in 2018 ( minus the contributions you made ) as already said most pension funds went down in 2018.
an understandable comment but more important that you understand how Pension Portfolio 2 meets your investment needs compared to the funds your current pension is invested in .I dont personally like the SW website as it's very clunky and not very impressive0
