Using SIPP to Buy Shares?

I have a SIPP and an IFA. I'm thinking of buying some shares in a particular company. Can I buy them with my SIPP?

With most SIPP providers, this would be no problem , as long as it is a share quoted on London's main market.
If it was a foreign share or quoted on AIM for example, there would be less choice.

What's the deal with the IFA? Do they control what is bought and sold? If so how does that work with you choosing your own investments?
And are you contemplating buying these shares with new money or money that's in there already ? There are limits on what you can put into a SIPP dependent upon your earnings. Would this breach those if its additional money?

Do you mean an IFA or an ISA? If you do mean an IFA, why not ask them?

Buying shares in an individual company is a lot riskier than buying a fund that covers lots of shares. I wouldn't recommend it without doing a lot of research first, Not just about the company, but also exploring whether or not investing in individual companies is the right strategy for you,
Think first of your goal, then make it happen!
