Clarke Willmott

Hi,

I am now discharged, yay! But i still have 27 IPA payments to go.

How was your experience with CW? Do they stay in touch regularly? Do they need bank statements now and then? How often?
I am expecting pay rise in couple of months. How do they treat these? Do they automatically take extra money?
Last time I had pay rise I went straight to OR (I was not discharged yet), she was absolutely amazing, allowed me to keep extra funds, and also reduced IPA a bit. But she said that I should be going to CW in first instance from now on.

And the last question, annual bonus some time near Christmas, not guaranteed, but I am hoping for it. I have read somewhere, that if I have 12-24 months left on IPA, I will be allowed to keep 50% of that. Is that correct? Does anyone have any experience?

Thank you :j

    Hiya

I finished my 3 years £44 a month with clarke wilmott in October last year. All the communications from them were the payment receipt emails every month never once did they ask for proof of earnings or bank statements, I just made sure the payments were sent well before the due date. The pay increases I received during this time I told them about the first one and it didn't change the amount to pay i didn't inform them of the other two as i probably should have but they were not large amounts and other outgoings like gas electric food etc went up in the three year period and bonus payments and tax credits went down so I effectively did not earn any more, and the initial documentation from them stated you only had to inform them of significant differences in amounts. I cant tell you about your bonus mine was a quarterly one which i told the OR about at the start and factored it into my financials as it was more or less guaranteed it was covered by the £44.

    hope this helps, good luck

I expect Clarke Willmott will have been appointed to manage your IPA.
With most bankrupcies/insolvencies, you are not scrutanized as closley as you think your going to be, you pretty much just get left to get on with it.

Significant changes must be reported, but usually when earnings go up, the cost of living also rises equally.

They are pretty chill if you have evidence, I was able to change my IPA from £622 p/m to £0 p/m due to change in circumstances.

I got a new OR this January, and he is pretty much refusing majority of my expenses ;-(

Got a few tough months ahead.
  • Hi - as previous posters CW have never asked anything from me in 2.5 years only contacting me when I've occasionally been late with my payments.

Therefore nothing on change of circumstances etc.

As you are aware they are in it for themselves and want you to pay back as much as possible and more.

Well, I have gone directly to OR and offered to clear my IPA. Family member kindly gave me the money.
CW confirmed by email that they received the funds and closed my account. Waiting for the letter by post stating the same.
Also I might get back to OR requesting the same confirmation :-)

Tom, thats exactly what I was afraid of. To be honest, my OR was extremely sensible. I hardly had any expenditures challenged. I even think I could have avoided the IPA altogether if I was a bit more pushy and brave.

As long as CW have sent the confirmation Sarah that's good enough for anyone - the OR only do discharge notifications I think

    Hi,
I have got the confirmation from CW within couple of days, stating that my IPA has been paid in full.
I have emailed OR asking for the similar letter, but go no response. :j
Anyway, feels so much better now.
