DMP: StepChange or DIY?

Options
I've been trying to get some help with setting-up a debt management plan. I finally decided to go with StepChange, as it looked like it could all be done online. (I can't use the phone due to my condition.)

However, I got an email from them today saying it was "a telephone-based service." So, they said that if I could not ring them then they couldn't help.

My question is - do I even need them? Can I set-up a dmp direct with creditors? Will they take advantage of me? Will they take it as seriously as if I went through someone like StepChange?

Yes, it is relatively easy to self-manage you DMP...

I can recommend two valuable resources for you to read through, so that you can make an informed choice. The link to both are below:

That's nonsense, before I went self managed I was with Stepchange for a short period of time, I never spoke to anyone on the phone, not once, couldn't have done it otherwise.
