Plastic free & OS ways to wrap meat for the freezer

Hi, I use my old takeaway containers for freezing, they're stackable to 0

Have you thought about going back to getting milk delivered to your house? There’s a site called find me a milk man so you can set yourself up. Yes they’re more expensive but milk is pretty cheap right? Unlike supermarkets, they pay farmers a fair price so you’ll be supporting more than one local business. You’ll just leave the empty milk bottles outside to be used again and await another delivery. Should help if you’re disabled as you mention. Hope that helps.0

We tend to freeze any extra meat in small freezer bags. I wondered about freezing chicken pieces loose on a tray and then putting then in a large container so that you could take out as many pieces as you need. We thought about freezing other things eg Apple sauce in large ice cube trays and then putting them loose in larger containers. Not tried it yet.0

Why are you worried about using plastic sandwich bags? The important thing is for the wrapping to be air tight so that you don't get freezer burn as water sublimes from the surface.0

Yep, everything you said it perfectly fine to do. Freeze on trays and then move to another container afterwards, this will stop them freezing as one lump. Freezing sauce in ice cube trays is also great.0 -
We do this now and store the items in a plastic box in the freezer. Then you can take out what you need. No freezer burn yet.0

The trouble with the plastic box v plastic bag is that the boxes take up more room. I do do that with lots of things but for "rough" shaped foods, chicken portions etc, it would take up valuable space in my freezer nut thanks for the suggestion.0
