    Hi

Thanks all. We were planning to get one with the net on the inside of the springs as I think its safer.
  • got mine from ebuyer - £130 during the summer for a 12footer with enclosure - free delivery.

Bet there really cheap now its winter though.
  • my friend bought one and its very flimsy. She now wants an Octajump like mine from https://www.jumpforfun.co.uk ,very good quailty, good price and safer.By the way you will find the poor quality cheap trampolines have their nets on the inside as the padding on the springs isnt thick enough to protect kids landing on it and hurting them selves.
  • we purchased the mad dash one for our girls for xmas, was fairly straight forward to put up (bearing in mind it was 21:00 on xmas eve in the dark!) the netting rounds round the outer side of the trampoline, which i much prefer as gives space to sit on padding while 1 or 2 kids jump plus have had a few drunk adults on it, am very pleased very quick delivery and would recommend

Our tramp is a good one, and it has the safety net on the inside of the springs. The padding isn't flimsy either.

It's also recommended that the safety net is on the inside of the padding.

''Are all Safety Nets the same?
No - the quality of trampoline safety enclosures does vary quite considerably. Almost all mid-range and upwards safety nets available today are capable of preventing children and adults from falling off the trampoline, not all are capable of preventing the another type of potentially dangerous accident - falling onto the outer rail. The outer rail is the circular bar on the trampoline frame to which the trampoline springs are attached. Although this part of the frame is usually covered by the trampoline pads, it is usually the hardest part of the trampoline on which it is possible to fall. We therefore recommend trampoline safety nets that are held INSIDE the circumference of the outer rail, so that the chances of falling onto the outer rail are greatly reduced. Budget safety nets are often NOT constructed in this way - the net is often hung directly onto the vertical enclosure poles, outside the outer rail, and making a fall onto the outer rail unpreventable. Worse, with this type of budget construction, you have the additional risk of falling onto the safety-net metal poles themselves! ''
  • Hi

We're thinking about getting a big trampoline for our two children aged 2 & 6.

    Any recommendations ?

I've started looking at different retailers but they vary so much in price.

Any advice or comments greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
We just bought a 10ft one from FOCUS - may be same as other posting, was slightly over £100 . . . and its a great source of aerobic exercise. Down side for me is weight limit of 200lb, means one at a time for us.
It has netting round the side, which I would suggest essential for the age of children you have.

Added para1. Even for lighter people, you will find that ONE is mandated at a time - risk of clashing into each other.
Added para2. 'Miss money saver' on HUKD reports that 'The Range' have trampolines at £49.99 instore, so may be worth checking if you have one near you
  • We bought a mad dash one 14ft with the side mesh for our son. Unfortunately after just under a year of happy bouncing (364 days to be precise) it collapsed under him (one leg sheared completely) throwing him off and onto the frame. He had concussion and was in hospital overnight.
However mad dash were excellent and arranged for a full replacement and apologised profusely ( not really their fault but good of them to do so) they also sent son some vouchers. They arranged for the uplift of faulty trampoline as well. Couldn't fault them as a company. Just check the joins on the legs of trampoline as this is what caused the problem with ours welding was faulty.

  • Sorry, but Ive worked in the outdoor leisure industry for years, this below is completely untrue. The " outer rail " that keeps being mentioned is the edge of the frame. If padding is thick enough to absorb impact the net can be attached the outside. If the padding is too thin manufacturers will attach the netting on the inside. It makes no difference to whether the netting is inside or outside to whether the jumper will hit the actual metal poles. The inside nets do not stop the jumper from going outwards towards the poles. The poles on each type should be protected in heavy foam anyway. Two things that people do not even think of 1) the inside nets can feel claustrophobic as they restrict the use of the whole trampoline area 2)I have seen incidents where small children waiting for a go on the trampoline were crawling around out side the net and have fallen off.

We are in the unfortuunate position of having bought a trampoline from B&Q a year or so ago and they have now changed the design from 6 legs to 4. We now need a new safety enclosure...and the B&Q ones will not fit our trmpoline ! Am very cross about this, feel been left up the river without a paddle as it were! anyone know where I can get a net for a 12 foot trampoline with 6 legs for a reasonable price please? Thanks a lot.
