Hi any help would be appreciated.
My girlfriend has booked a house for her sisters hen do through Brighton holiday homes in june costing £3500 she paid by debit card around 2 weeks ago and has recieved an email today saying the company has gone into administration and not to turn up to the house as access will be denied. Surely the company would have known about this over the two weeks ago when they took her money.
How can she go about claiming her money back. This was for a group of around 20 people so not it's not just her that has had her money stolen. She is 7 months pregnant so this stress is not good. Really looking for some help and this is the first place i thought of asking.
Many thanks

She can try a chargeback from her bank, but if there are insufficient funds, it will fail. Failing that, she'll just be a creditor and is unlikely to get anything.
So tell her to get in touch with her bank immediately.0 -
How did she make payment... if by credit card she could have some protection under section 75?0

She paid on her debit card much to my annoyance, I didn't know. She had phoned the bank and they have said that they can refund around 2700 (final payment) as it was made on the website. The initial deposit £800 paid over the phone also by debit card they are unable to claim back as it goes out as a bill payment rather than payment for goods. The original email said the company have ceased trading rather than gone into administration? Is there a difference? Fingers crossed the bank comes through. Thanks for your replies0
