No, the CSA increase the assessments; the partners applaud from the sidelines.kelloggs36 wrote: »Which is of course natural. However, there is a myth which surrounds the CSA which is that partners always increase assessments and this just is not true.Information is not knowledge.

I am under the old system and have been told I will not go into the new system until it is set up and even then it will take ages. At the moment I am assessed after they deduct my mortgage repayment and half my pension payment. Does anyone know how you are assessed under the new system. Do they just take a percentage of the gross with no notice taken of your overheads. I have two children and believe under the new system they take 25% of my salary but I do not know if this is after taking consideration of my overheads.
It is calculated on your net income, which is in itself different from the amount used in CS1. They take your gross income and take off the tax, national insurance and 100% of your pension contributions. Then, it is a flat % for the relevant number of children. For you to pay 25% you must have 3 or more children. However, if you have new children in your household (including those of a new partner) then you get a reduction.0 -
Thank you very much Kellogs for you reply I found the information most helpful. I have two children one aged 16 and one 11. I am not sure when I stop paying. At the moment I pay £365 per month so I am not sure whether I will be better off or not probably not!!0
