Chinese Herbalists

Thanks for all the advice and information. It was for my brother. He wants to give them a shot but was a bit unsure.
He has an operation coming up. The first time they did it, it made no difference so he has been trying alternative stuff since but to no avail hence wanting to give Chinese herbalists a shot.
To be honest I would tell him to give it a try.:)
I was given mindfulness as a mental health treatment over 10 years ago and it was considered "woo" and weird back then because it was based on eastern medicine.
Now mindfulness is considered at least as effective as antidepressants as a treatment.
Look at Dr Rangan Chatterjee as well, he is considered the doctor of the future and he is definitely open to these types of therapies.0 -
Thanks for all the information again. It's a condition he has where he can't urinate unless he uses a catheter and he has been doing this for a number of years which is becoming unbearable. They fitted a device inside him which was supposed to stimulate some kind of nerve in him so he could urinate on his own but it didn't work. They are now thinking about doing another operation but before he goes for it, he wants to exhaust all other options in case it doesn't work again.
I will definitely tell him to give it a go. It might work, it might not but there is no harm in trying is there?0 -

Well- there might be harm- no one knows.
Chinese medicines are unregulated- we often don't really know what is in them and they can interact with other drugs!0 -
Herbal doesn't mean harmless.
Many western medicines derive from plants. Digitalis, for example, is from foxgloves and can kill.
There are also potentially dodgy doses, contaminated products and interactions with prescription medication.
He needs to follow the guidance if he goes ahead.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
