Mortgage ending, Final Mortgage admin fees??

I was wondering if someone could offer advice, pleeease?
Our mortage is coming to the end of its 25 year term this month. We have received a letter from Abbey, stating that there is a Final Mortgage Administration Fee due before the loan closes of £95.00.
Is this the norm when all mortgages come to their end? I there any way of getting ouit of this??
They are also holding deeds to the house, and have asked us if they can do the legal work to discharge them, or will I engage my own solicitor. There is no mention that they will be charging a fee for this service, if they continue. Do they actually do something for nothing, or am I going to be wacked by another charge?
Thank you for you help.

Ask them how much they will charge. Then see if you can get a local solicitor cheaper.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
